Hotel Pickup & Mekong Cruise

We will pick you up from your accommodation between 8:00 and 8:30 AM and transfer you directly to the pier. From there, board a traditional longtail boat and begin your cruise along the mighty Mekong River.

Relax and enjoy panoramic river views while observing authentic rural life along the riverbanks. Pass local villages, fishermen casting their nets, and children playing by the water — a true glimpse into daily life in Laos.

Ban Xang Hai – Whisky Village

After just over an hour on the river, we make our first stop at Ban Xang Hai, famously known as the Whisky Village.

Here you will learn about the traditional production of Lao Lao, the country’s well-known rice whisky. Sample the local spirits and, if you wish, purchase a bottle as a unique souvenir.

Pak Ou Caves

Continuing upstream, we arrive at the sacred Pak Ou Caves. A short climb up stone steps leads you into these historic limestone caves, which have served as places of worship for centuries.

Inside, you will find thousands of Buddha statues of various sizes, placed here by devotees over generations. Your guide will share fascinating legends and stories as you explore this spiritual site.

Lunch at Elephant Camp

After visiting the caves, the boat briefly enters the Ou River before cruising back down the Mekong to Manifa Elephant Camp.

Enjoy a buffet lunch at the riverside restaurant overlooking the Mekong, where elephants roam freely nearby — a peaceful and memorable setting. 

Kuang Si Falls

In the afternoon, travel by minivan to the spectacular Kuang Si Falls.

You will have approximately two hours to:

Explore the three-tiered waterfall

Walk along scenic nature trails

Swim in refreshing turquoise pools

Visit the nearby bear conservation center

This natural wonder is one of Laos’ most breathtaking highlights.

Hmong Village Visit

On the return journey to Luang Prabang, we stop at Ban Na Uang, a Hmong resettlement village. Meet members of the local community and learn about their traditions and way of life.

Return & Drop-Off

Upon arrival back in Luang Prabang, we will drop you off at your accommodation (upon request) or at a central location near the post office and night market.
