Why it is important to support local Lao communities
Find out how you can support us helping local Laos children and villages

At Eco Tours Laos, community support is at the heart of everything we do.
We partner directly with families, local guides, and village communities across Luang Prabang and the surrounding countryside to ensure tourism benefits the people who call this region home.
We hire local experts, source food from village markets, and choose experiences led by families who preserve traditional knowledge—from cooking techniques to handicrafts.
On each village trip we provide schools with learning material and books sourced from a local voluntary organization, Big brother Mouse.
Why we do this? in rural Laos only 46% of the kids can read and write. We aim to change that for the better. In rural Laos, girls marry at 14 years of old, and on average they have 6 children. We aim to change that for the better. The average annual income of a Laotian person is 1656 USD. We aim to change that for the better.
Every tour you book with us brings fair income to rural households, helping support education, cultural heritage, and sustainable livelihoods. By traveling with us, you truly help strengthen children, families and communities and protect the authentic spirit of Laos.
