DESCRIPTION:
Day 01
Mountain Trek to a Hmong Cultural Homestay
Lunch & Dinner Included
Meet your Ecotours guide early in the morning for a short briefing before departure. Store your main luggage with us and pack light for the trek ahead.
We begin with a scenic 1.5 hour drive north along the Mekong and Nam Xeuang Rivers. After crossing the river by local boat, your adventure truly begins as we step directly onto jungle trails used daily by villagers traveling between these remote mountain communities.
Today’s trek is 4 to 5 hours of moderate walking through rice paddies, forest paths, and rolling hills.
By late afternoon, we arrive in a welcoming Hmong village where you will stay in simple yet comfortable local conditions. Take time to explore the village, meet residents, and experience daily mountain life. Dinner is freshly prepared by your guide together with your host family.
Overnight in a Hmong village.
Day 02
Valley Trek to a Khmu & Hmong Village with Baci Ceremony
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Wake to the sounds of village life and enjoy breakfast prepared by your guide.
Today’s hike is shorter, approximately 4 hours, following valley streams and scenic paths to a large mixed Khmu and Hmong village nestled between towering mountains.
Arriving mid afternoon, you’ll have time to explore this expansive community, observe schools and daily activities, and interact with locals. Your guide will help you gain deeper insight into village traditions and lifestyle.
In the evening, participate in a traditional Baci ceremony, a meaningful spiritual ritual offering blessings for health, happiness, and safe travels. Enjoy dinner afterward and relax before tomorrow’s mountain adventure.
Overnight in the village.
Day 03
Mountain Peak Trek to the Nam Xeuang River
Breakfast & Lunch Included
Today is the most challenging and rewarding trek of the journey. We hike 6 to 7 hours over mountain ridges with panoramic views stretching across the valleys and villages where you stayed.
We walk the same steep trails locals use to tend their mountain rice fields, and visit a remote Hmong mountain village along the way. The scenery is breathtaking and deeply authentic.
Your trek concludes at the Nam Xeuang River, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim before the 1.5 hour return drive to Luang Prabang — completing an unforgettable three day adventure.
