FULL-DAY TREK: LONG LAO VILLAGE TO KUANG SI FALLS

08:30 AM – Depart from your hotel

We leave Luang Prabang by private vehicle for a 50-minute drive west to Long Lao Village, your trek’s starting point. Nestled in a peaceful valley, this little-visited village is home to both Hmong and Khmu communities. The Hmong, traditionally highland people, have resettled here at lower altitude, creating a vibrant cultural mix.

09:30 AM – Begin your trek

Meet your local Hmong guide who will join your Lao guide for a three-hour trek through scenic countryside. The trail begins with an ascent to a skyline ridge offering panoramic views of Long Lao and the surrounding valley. Along the way, observe villagers tending crops of rice, coriander, chili, and local herbs.

The trail is well-marked but can be steep and slippery, especially during the wet season (April–September), so sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended.

12:30 PM – Arrive at Kuang Si Falls

Reach the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfalls, where you can swim in turquoise pools or simply relax and enjoy the natural beauty.

Afterwards, we visit the nearby Bear Rescue Centre, which rehabilitates bears rescued from illegal wildlife trade and deforestation.

03:00 PM – Return to Luang Prabang

Enjoy a leisurely drive back to town, with optional stops for photos of rural life and mountain scenery.

Late Afternoon – Arrive at your hotel

Return to your hotel with memories of an inspiring day of nature, culture, and adventure.
